Vargata Visitors' Jetty

In the harbour area, you can visit Hamnmagasinet Summer Café & Bistro, open from 20 June to 8 August. At the jetty, you will also find a diving tower and a small sandy beach.

Approximately 1,500 metres from the visitor jetty lies the village centre of Vargata, where you will find a well-stocked local shop. Here you will also find Åland’s smallest museum — the telephone kiosk located next to the shop serves as a museum. Lift the receiver and listen to the history of the telephone.

From Vargata, cyclists can take an excursion to the island of Simskäla, the home island of the Åland author Anni Blomqvist and her character Stormskärs Maja (Stormskerry Maja). The Åland School Museum is located along the route. A section of the historic post road runs across Vårdö, and the church dates back to the medieval period.
