Sottunga Guest Harbour
Welcome to Sottunga, the smallest municipality in Finland. Located by the harbour in the island’s former salt warehouse, you will find a restaurant and café. Restaurant Salteriet is well known for its schnitzels, and the menu also includes fish and meat dishes, fresh summer salads, and hamburgers. The restaurant strives to use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
The guest harbour fee is paid on site at Restaurant Salteriet, where the friendly staff are happy to assist and answer any questions. The service building at the guest quay offers showers, toilets, and a sauna. For swimming enthusiasts, there is also a diving tower in the harbour.
The village centre, with a shop, post office, bank, and pharmacy, is located approximately 3 km from the harbour. Bicycles are available to borrow at the marina. If you would like to stretch your legs, one of Sottunga’s three nature trails begins at the harbour—a 2.5 km loop that introduces you to the island’s history. Sottunga also features an 18-hole disc golf course, which starts directly from the ferry harbour.
You may also wish to visit the charming wooden-shingled church of Sottunga, which dates back to the 16th century and was rebuilt around 1730. The church is located next to the guest marina.
